DAY 5

Day 5 - Sounkyo Gorge. It was damn cold! We nearly froze!

This is known as the female waterfall. Haha didn't know waterfalls can have gender too!

Think you can imagine how cold we were. Hands in pockets, ears covered by hood. I was wearing 2 jackets ok!

This is the male waterfall. We had to suffer so much just to take the photos!

Haha Yiwen was forced to take the pic! He insisted it was just a cherry blossom tree next to the toilet, but I wanted to take with the flowers because that was what I went to Hokkaido for!

Drinking Asahi beer after the boring visit. Haha I only drank half a glass lah!

I got whoozy after that half a glass of beer...

After a BBQ lunch, we went to Otaru. It's a little town which is like a mini-Venice.

At the Music Box Museum, which sells a lot of musical boxes. These dolls are very special! You turn the key, and then there will be music!

Hello Kitty musical box!

My favorite Hello Kitty again! Again, they can produce music when you turn the key!

Along the streets of Otaru...

Ishiya chocolate factory where we watched a puppet show and saw many tulips

There were tulips of many colors...

Me standing in a bed of flowers! There is this hole you can climb up one!

Susukino, the "red light district" in Sapporo

You see Royce chocolates everywhere in Hokkaido and it's cheaper too... Very nice man!

Eating ramen at Ramen street. It was so good!

With our new friends and the chefs! Wah I miss the ramen a lot...

DAY 4

Day 4 - Shiraoi Ainu Museum

Pretty pretty scenery. Guess it makes up for the not-so-interesting tour of the museum lah.

This makes me feel so calm...

My favorite cherry blossoms again! So lucky to be there at the right season! I insisted on taking a lot of pictures with them!

Yiwen and I with the cherry blossoms

After 3 hours of travelling, we reached Furano and got to Farm Tomita to see lavender! But it's not the season yet, so we only got to see some in the greenhouse...

Close-up of the flower

We could see snow mountains from the farm!

This felt as if we were in an overseas uni with the trees along the paths...

Yellow tulips and purple lavender. Awesome!

Lavender ice-cream! Grr I was made to pose like an idiot.

Yiwen likes the cute Jap kid so much, he made me ask the mum for permission to take a picture with the girl! At first the kid was quite shy, but she still took the picture with us! She's very kawaii!!!

Tata! Me in yellow yukata! I was waiting to go to the hot spring with the ladies!

DAY 3

I think he's pouting because he had to wake up damn early. Haha that's the place where you can "pao4" your legs.

Lake Toya in the early morning. I think the sun rises before 4am in Hokkaido! We had a friend who woke up at 4.30am to catch sunrise and the sun had already risen by then!

Lake Toya sign! Shows I've been there!

After breakfast, we headed to Nakajima

On the ferry to the island...

Deer-watching! Hahaha...

Nice scenery

On the ferry back. Haha the 2 birds were like posing for us!

That's Mt Yotei in the day as seen from the ferry

The tour guide was nice enough to let us stop to take pictures with the cherry blossoms! Too bad we didn't manage to take pictures of the streets with the flowers blooming on both sides. Yup yup, we saw those from the bus!

Next stop - Bear Ranch!

The bears waiting for food from us

The place where we "made" fruit jam. It just involves us scooping jam from 1 big pot to smaller bottles. How exciting right.

Yiwen holding the king crab we had later. Very nice ah!

King crab + hairy crab! Got sick of eating them towards the end though, cos you got to use this thing to dig out the meat which was kinda mafan haha...

After lunch, we went to Edo Wonderland!

Yiwen and the nice buildings of the Edo period

Posing with the characters!

Eh what you want ah?

Yiwen acting as a general in 1 of the shows! He must be enjoying his time with the pretty geisha around :(

I got to cut the queue and take the picture first because he was part of the cast! Hee...

Small me under the big sakura tree

Final stop - Hell Valley

It is a sulphurous boiling pond. Had to endure the sulphur smell!

The super sumptous dinner we had in Noboribetsu. Ate until I burst!

In yukatas! Look authentic hor?
